ADMIT that you have sinned. First you must recognize your spiritual need. The Bible teaches, "There is none righteous, no, not one...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:10-13
BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. The Bible tells us, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit..." - 1 Peter 3:18 "...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
CONFESS your sins to God. The Scriptures use the word "repent," which means "to change your direction." True confession always involves true repentance. "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." - Acts 3:19 God commands his people to repent. You must be willing to turn away from those things which displease God.
DECIDE to follow Jesus Christ and become His disciple. Jesus' last commission to the church was "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:19, 20
